Objective: To create a committee of SAIS abroad students where events can be held either through assemblies, social media and other means to mentor students considering studying abroad.

Idea:

  • Orientation Assembly held between January 12-January 21:

  • Held By:  students who are currently studying abroad can create a PowerPoint and provide insights into the pros and cons of studying abroad.

Goal:

  • To create a question and answer session where students can inquire about topics from first experience students.

  • To provide insights into specific universities that the students are attending.

  • To further explain the procedure of applying to universities.

  • Play a video previewing some universities taped by students.

  •

  • SAIS abroad WhatsApp group:

  • To create a social media platform where students who are currently abroad can talk and provide bits of advice to each other and meet each other if the students are in nearby cities.

  •

  • SAIS abroad Instagram:

  • To create a social media platform where pictures of students abroad and their accomplishments can be posted to allow students to view the opportunities that could await them.

  •

  • Mentoring Opportunity:

  • To create a platform where students who are currently abroad can volunteer to mentor students who will be studying abroad soon whether this includes helping them if close by or by giving them pieces of advice.

  • To create a platform where students of similar research interests can cooperate with one another.

  • Targeted Audience: High school students and parents who would like to learn more about abroad opportunities.

  • Needed Equipment: Projector, speakers, chairs. Might require more equipment, but unlikely. Will update if needed.
